Same problem. Vmoda + iPhone 3GS. It's obviously the headphones because this problem only arises when using them (as opposed to other headphones). This really makes me angry, as those headphones weren't cheap!

So my girlfriend has a 3G and a newer set of Vibe Duos. I tried my old model on her 3G and they worked perfect. I also tried her new model Vibes on my 3GS and that did work. So I guess any current model Vibe Duos would work with a 3GS. Very Strange.

I tried once more to use my old model Vibe Duos on my 3GS and it worked better than I remember. Just couldn't use the inline control button, but otherwise it seemed to behave ok.

Did you ever get working Vibe Duo headphones? I also had the same model as you (i.e., the ones that look like this http://media.obsessable.com/media/2008/11/17/300/v-moda-vibe-duo.jpg), and was having the same problem with my 3GS. I also contacted V Moda and was told they would be releasing a compatible model some time later in the summer. Did that ever happen? I handed down my old Vibe Duos to my wife, who has an iPhone 3G.

Do yours look like this? http://media.obsessable.com/media/2008/11/17/300/v-moda-vibe-duo.jpg

I think they did some refreshes to them along the way. Driving me nuts. I might use my old headphone dongle from my 1st gen so i can use them. I think that would screen out the mic\button crap.

That's strange. My Vibe Duos have been working fine with my 3GS. I do have their most recent version I believe, but not this new version they're talking about releasing. I'll have to pay more attention while I'm using them and see if I'll need to make the update. Thanks for posting about this.
